Summary: The Apple Health App for iOS looks beautiful and can capture and show cool data but has huge problems with accuracy and data management.
Apple’s Health App uses data directly from the iPhone or third party device to collect, store and show health information. For example, the iPhone can pick up movement with it’s built-in accelerometer and uses that to display your steps. In addition to tracking my steps I tracked by heart rate using a Mio Alpha strapless heart rate monitor, and my sleep using Sleep Cycle, a mobile app that uses a phone’s accelerometer to track the quality of sleep. I also used a Charge HR to do all of the above and test the differences between devices.Tags: Apple, ios, Mac
