My friend Lawrence is a successful software engineer who had a problem: He kept making commitments to improve himself, like by eating veggies every day, running 3 times a week, and reading every night before bed but had a hard time sticking to all the new activities he wanted to do. Seeing an opportunity to put his coding skills to work, he created this useful app during his personal time so that he and his friends could use it.

You can check out his website here: challengesponsor.com

The app works great. While a bit rough around the edges from a design perspective, all the tools and functionalities are rock solid. You can connect with Facebook, save challenges, invite other people to share in challenges, track progress and receive notifications.

I think a design refresh would make this app very popular in the App Store. If you do things like add calendar events as reminders to work out or create spreadsheets to track progress towards a personal goal, ChallengePact will blow you away. One thing I’d really like to see is integration with bluetooth heart rate monitors and services like Apple Health.
