This year I really wanted to ski up in one push, leaving all the camping gear behind and acknowledging that sleep is usually insubstantial anyway.
So Mandie, Henry and I left Paradise at 5:45pm on May 31st. We crossed the upper Wilson and climbed the Finger through the night on bullet-proof snow and got on the summit dome around 11 am.
We reached the summit at 1:30pm, and after a short rest skied down, which only took 1 hour from the summit to the parking lot.
Definitely felt tired on the way up but recovery was surprisingly fast and we were already feeling good on the way down.Tags: Big Mountain Skiing, Mt. Rainier
